Homeschool Haven's quality online learning is based on each student's individual needs and
ability level. Blackboard will be used as the access point to outstanding educational sources, individualized
assessments, and a community of students and educators interacting online together for the purpose of success. Blackboard
is used by thousands of school districts and most major universities.
Whether you drop your child off at the location in Fort Worth for the tutoring
or day a full day of learning or if your child stays at home and is monitored by a HSH teacher, we provide a safe,
flexible environment where students can learn and explore the world around them.
For the HSH student who spends the day at an instructor's home or a stay-at-home student, our primary resource
is Connections Academy, which is part of the
Houston School District. The HSH teacher acts as the Primary
Coach for this program and parents can access student work, assessments, daily lesson plans, and student
monthly planner easily during the day or at anytime. There is great flexibility in this program (i.e. taking family vacations
mid-week or for long weekends). However, the HSH teacher is responsible for tutoring and keeping up with student

Blackboard is used as the main HSH tutoring tool and online portal to Connections Academy.

a major role in that exploration.

Connections Academy will have field trips in the DFW area and
the HSH teacher(s) will be responsible
for transportation to and
from the destination. In addition the HSH program
has weekly exploration outings that
tie into the C/Academy lessons and the core curriculum.
